MARCH 2018

Why "It City" Nashville is perfect site for NAID 2018

nashville skyline
April is almost here and we’re packing our suitcases, heading south to “It City” Nashville. That’s the honor The New York Times bestowed upon this southern city jewel in 2017, citing its booming growth, tourism, night life and restaurants. With an impressive list of initiatives and activity over the past year, it seems only fitting the NAID Annual Conference should be held in such a dynamic city. While the Association is on a trajectory of growth, the theme of this year’s conference “Sound Practices for a Sound Future” is a reminder that the most successful organizations start with a solid foundation. To share industry best practices, NAID has gathered a slate of expert speakers and presenters as revered as the Ryman Auditorium and as lively as a Broadway honky-tonk on a Saturday night. (I haven’t quite figured out how I fit into this list but am honored to be part of the education agenda to talk about cyber-security.)

Another lively spot? The NAID exhibition hall. Make plans to stop by the ASI booth (#165) for a demo of the ASI Medical Waste Module and the new Android/iOS compatible ASI Mobile. If you’d prefer to meet outside exhibit hours, drop us an email and we’ll be happy to set up a time that works for your schedule.

If you still have energy to go exploring after all your NAID activities, we’ve pulled together some of the Nashville “It” spots to check out, both on and off Broadway.

ASI Medical Waste Module

Secure & compliant medical waste disposal

Is medical waste disposal part of your destruction services? Are you considering adding it to your services? You owe it to your business to check out the ASI Medical Waste Module and its many features that inspire client confidence. These include web-accessible manifests, digital certificates of destruction, and chain-of-custody documentation to provide proof of safe, compliant medical waste disposal services – a regulatory requirement.

“Manifests are critically important to the medical disposal process – not only because federal agencies require them, but because manifests provide clear chain-of-custody. The ASI Medical Waste Module manifests document the disposal process step-by-step. When the service is completed, the client receives the manifest via email or can access it from the web,” says ASI President/CEO Scott Bidwell. “If you’ve had any experience servicing hospitals and health care facilities, you can appreciate the importance of this feature.”

Attendees of the upcoming  NAID and MWMA 2018 conferences can visit the ASI booth for a full demonstration or book a demo in advance to schedule a custom consultation.

Tech Tip: ASI Mobile is smarter than ever!

ASI Mobile® is now compatible with both Android and iOS smartphones and mobile devices. This means it packs an even more powerful productivity punch in the warehouse and on-the-road. This also means that records center and destruction companies may be able to eliminate the need to purchase proprietary handheld devices, depending on their requirements. If you’re attending NAID 2018 or MWMA 2018, stop by the ASI booth for a live demo or book a demo today.

Things to see & do, on & off Broadway

Clearly, NAID’s 2018 conference schedule is a full one. If you find you’ve got the time (and the energy), there are plenty of places to visit in Nashville for great music, delicious food, funky art, and fashion. To help narrow down your choices, there’s no one better to ask than Nashville’s own Steve Richards. His article in December’s NAIDnews is a definite “must read” when checking out the hot spots in “Music City, USA.” You’ll also find links to NAID Nashville discounts.

If you prefer to go off the beaten path, check out the lively neighborhood known as “WeHo.” Just south of downtown, tucked between Wedgewood Avenue and Houston Street, WeHo is packed with art galleries, hip distilleries and vintage shops. A couple of places you’ll not want to miss include Nashville Craft distillery (check out its specialty spirit, Naked Biscuit). Art lovers will enjoy browsing through numerous galleries. Zeitgeist art gallery is definitely worth visiting if you enjoy emerging contemporary artists. Wrap up the evening at Santa’s Pub where you’ll find twinkling lights, $2 cold beers and karaoke every night. Bring your cash, though. Plastic’s not welcome!
